Our last day with the group. I can't believe how quickly time has passed. After another round of tears and hugs, our group joined the Mavo 2 fieldtrip to Corpus: A 7-storey-high interactive trip through the human body. While very simple and a bit geared to the younger students, the level of detail and ingenuity that went into it's construction was impressive. The 3-D films detailing some of the body's processess were very cool. My personal favorite was the room which was modeled like the inside of the eye. After the 45 minute tour, we entered the interactive section of the building which I think the students got the most enjoyment out of. There were lots of interesting set-ups, which included a video game that allowed you to kill bacteria by throwing bean bags on a huge flat screen, and there were also "health stats" stations that allowed you to check your blood pressure, heart rate, BMI (body mass index)and fat percentage (I, myself clocked in at 9.2 %). What did you think of Corpus? was it a satisfying end to the trip? What were the emotions as we said goodbye to the rest of the St.Maarten crew?

Well, time really did fly.
ReplyDeleteIt was our last day and we were on a fieldtrip to the Corpus. The Corpus was quite interesting and very educational. We learnt even more about most of the body parts with some 3D videos and jolting rides. After that, we had a little food break by the cafeteria, and we went to the 'interactive' section of the building as Mr. T calls it. That was FUN! We had all these different games and machines and puzzles. And about that bacteria killing game, didn't you guys just LOVE my technique! (:P) I think there was something wrong with that health stats station. It said my body fat was around 26%! *Hmmm* Maybe I am fat! (:O)
The Corpus was really nice and fun, a great way to end our unforgettable trip. The Corpus really had ALOT of time and dedication and planning put into it for the building and organizing, because it really was amazing.
Saying goodbye to the St. Maarten crew wasn't bad because I knew I was going to see them in a few days ANYWAY. It wasn't like I was going to miss them or anything (*whistles* You know i love you guys! =D <3).
I can't wait to show the Holland students and teachers around when they come! The second part of the KANS exchange =)
Xoxo,

Our last day and we went through a human body. I've got to say it did not help my appetite but it was fun! And it showed me how little I knew about the human body too. There was a lot of video and everything was easy to understand. Although I don't remember everything.
ReplyDeleteThen after we ate we went to the interactive section. There was one really fun game I saw but I didn't understand how to play. The most fun was killing bacterias! We had to throw balls at a screen to kill the bacterias on it. But Ekta walked up to the screen and touched the bacterias on it like that instead. That was cheating! But it helped =) My body fat was above 30! Be quiet Ekta, you're not even close to being fat.
Ah well I hope I speak for everyone when I say corpus was a lot of fun and I look forward to the second part of the exchange program when the students and teachers from RSG come to St. Maarten =D

today became sad because some of us got emotionally attached to one another and there were a lot of tears shed. the bus trip on the other hand was long and tedious. when we arrived at Corpus i was finally releaved. the building was huge and the walls were made of only loose stones. when we got on the educational trip we entered Corpus thruogh the "back door". this one hour trip made me finally feel how it is to be on the other end of a fork (i felt like food). later our family members piched us up and we went our seperate ways.
ReplyDeleteThe last day... sad because we were saying bye to some of our new friends for good (hopefully not for good), but exciting because I was not going to see Ekta for a while! (Just joking Ekta still love you!)
ReplyDeleteCorpus was a really good way to end our stay with the RSG students. It was VERY educational and quite fun. I respect the person(s) who came up with the whole idea of creating such a building. The methods in which they explained the the functions within the body was so cool! We got to be spermatazoids racing to an egg against other sperms! (Sick!)
After discovering new things about our body, we went to full our belly's with some TASTY food.
Then came the game session, also known as the "interactive section". In the 'body tester machine' I totally lost all feeling in my left hand getting tested for blood pressure, yet up to now it didn't tell me my results. There was another game where we had this...metal thing that you were suppose to answer questions, but NO ONE told us that we had to answer questions. (What a teacher Mr T. is boy *tsktsk*)
Anyways, after pitching balls toward a screen we all went our seperate ways.
I was kind of sad to say bye to the SXM crew but excited to spend the rest of my days in holland meeting a new person who I now consider my aunt.
Holland in general was quite fun,
Signing out until the next blog,
