Part 2 of our exchange begins: TODAY!

The representatives of the RSG school from Oud-Bijerland will be arriving at 2:00 pm today!
The excitement is palpable as students here in St. Dominic make preperations to welcome them at the airport. After having heard so much about them, they are eager to impress upon them the warm and friendly atmosphere of St. Maarten. I'm sure they also have lots of questions for our guests. Are you one of the students going to the airport? What are you going to show our guests? Let's see how much of what you plan actually comes to pass and lets see what wonderful unplanned events take place these next few days! Enter your comments below!

  1. Yes, i was one of the students who went to the airport...although Mr.T and Mr. G didnt let me go with them but i found a way to the airport!! Well, anyways...Viren, Akshay, Neil, and Walter came to my house earlier today around 5 pm to play some basketball. I was suprised by the way Walter plays..he' really good. Later in the week we plan to go movies, to the beach, maybe Maho and other places.... Peace!

  2. Thanks Angelo for being the first to respond to our blog. Thanks also for taking the time to play some hoops with Walter...he was on the champiaon team last season, so i guessed he would be pretty good...let's see how he handles the "court" in school though....that slope definitely is a tricky element. Was great seeing the rest of the group come to the Capoeira Roda today in town together with their host-families. I really like the vibe you all have shown them and I am proud of all of you, and again, Angelo: big-ups for being the first! Keep it up and encourage the others to do more!

  5. Well I feel really bad about not being able to make it to the airport, but by the time I left school, it was 2 PM and I thought with the traffic and everything, I would've reached after they had arrived. I then heard that they had been delayed and came out an hour later, but it was too late. I'm really excited about the students coming here, and I really hope that they get to see our island in its' beauty and enjoy it to the fullest. It's great to hear that Walter has already made some new friends and has been having fun. I hope Sean and Naomi are having fun, too! I already have plans for this weekend, and I can't wait! =)

All of you have a great week.

  7. Well, I wish I could have gone to the Airport. Unfortunately, I was not able to go. I saw the teachers that came from Holland on the day of the Community Service, on Saturday. I am really looking forward to meeting all the students and the teachers that are going to be coming.

  23. Yup they're here! I went to the airport to pick up Naomi who is staying by me for the first couple of days. I hope all of you are having a good time like we did in Holland. I certainly am enjoying your visit. I wonder what differences the Dutch students will see between Holland and St. Maarten and what they have in store for us this week. I'm sure all the presentations and workshops will be great!

  25. It's currently sunday...almost a week later...but I'm still writing. I met Sean on saturday afternoon/evening on the softball field. We made him try some johnny cakes n BBQ chicken. He has beautiful blue eyes ^.^ *hihihihihi* I was super xcited to meet them...n nervous too...cuz I was like..what if they don;t like SXM..n they think everyone's rude & hobo-ish...oh well...I guess they dont. Sean n I had a very pleasant conversation about SXM's many unfinished houses, n the fellas on the field & I welcomed him with open minds. I think he enjoyed it because he was laughing at the stupidity that was being said. I think he even witnessed his first fight...Thanks to *a certain someone*...which was on the soccer field...LOL...This whole kans xperience was Ah-mazing...Thanks to the organization that funded it...U guys rock!!!

  26. 1*what i liked most about the project is that you get to interact with students from other countries that you might not know a thing about its so fun just getting to know about their culture and stuff that they do up there
2*my least favorite part was knowing that this is the last year and that we wouldn’t have the fun corresponding convo’s and stuff
3*yes it is what i expected but not the games and the dances i was very surprised that they do those type of dances
4* I would like for us to do a little more like we go on field trips with the students and fun stuff with them
5*the Kans project i would like it to still continue and the energy and stuff between the correspondents and their partners!!!
6*yes I fine I was prepared because this is my second year and I really found that this year was a little more exciting
7* well we had a few messages sent and it was I can say alright because even though sometimes we had trouble with sending it to each other we still had good corresponding and that’s what made it fun to me
8*it is a possibility I mean the blog that was made is such a great way to keep in contact with my partner and the Gmail yes I hope I will
9*more field trips a fun outing such as we have a party wit them if it’s the last day and a fun day maybe
10*well Kans is really a nice program I’m not exaggerating at all because I learned a lot of stuff that I didn’t know about Holland and when I learn something new I feel very excited and proud

  27. kans is a very exciting program but now it is the last year which makes me unhappy all the times that were spent will be remembered for a long time so bye now D.E.S love ya mwaa
